Weaver Apartments for the Elderly

We turned the front steps into a small raised patio. The detailed scoring pattern and rich color of the pavement give this space an intimate feel. The planting around the patio is both evergreen and flowering, and is kept at low heights and a small scale to match the scale of the patio. The new ornamental fence provides security and gives the site a residential look in keeping with the surrounding neighborhood.

At the Valentine Street Apartments (below), a 6-unit apartment building, the planting and landscape were reconfigured to provide a clear delineation between public and private space. A curb at the street, new sidewalk, low fencing, and additional plantings were added.
